It is the 30th Anniversary of the Dragonball TV show, originally known as Dragonball. The Android vs. Piccolo Special Edition video game also sees the two enemies team up to fight off the evil Saiyans.
A feature-packed movie saw the return of many familiar faces from the series, as well as some lesser known ones. In the year 3000 of the Dragonball series, Dragonball Z was made into a movie for the first time. The Dragonball Z Anniversary set, which comes in three parts, commemorates this first movie in the series. The first part focuses on the beginning of the series, Dragonball Z, and the second focuses on the end of it. Both are accompanied by short bonus films. These feature cameos from Dragonball characters who had appeared in the series, as well as background music from the movies.
