As a child you would be given 70th birthday wishes, and often you would make the same wishes that your parents and grandparents wished for you on your birthday. This is one of the traditions that comes along with your childhood. For instance, a few years ago my brother and I were given some great birthday wishes by our family.
We got a variety of great birthday wishes from our relatives. I was even given a nice pair of shoes as well! My brother and I had a very special day, but it was still a very enjoyable one, and we enjoyed getting a variety of birthday wishes. There are a few things that should not be included in the “good” birthday wishes that you receive. I am going to outline some things that I think are very inappropriate, and will tell you why this is the case.
The first thing that should not be included in your birthday wishes is profanity or anything that may offend someone. I have a problem with language, but in this case you shouldn't include any swear words because you want to be respectful of the person that you wish a happy birthday to. So in other words, instead of wishing a man a happy birthday, you want to say something like, “Happy Birthday to you!”
Another thing that I think is inappropriate is to wish someone older than you a birthday that is too young for them. In other words, instead of wishing someone who is in his thirties, you want to say something like, “Happy Birthday to you, Bob!”
One thing that you might want to consider when thinking about the wishes that you are wishing on someone else is the different cultures that they come from. For instance, if you wish a Chinese man a birthday, you might want to think about the culture that they come from, and if it's something that you are comfortable with, you might want to say something like, “Happy Birthday to you Mr. Yang.” If you are not sure what the Chinese say, you can search the internet for Chinese birthday wishes.
The point is, when it comes to wishing someone a birthday, don't just use your own wish list, because you don't want to offend someone, and you definitely do not want to forget to include the words “Happy Birthday!” or anything along those lines! Happy birthday!
