What do you think you were doing when your partner said “I love you” and then repeated it a few times over? Or maybe you had a wonderful dinner together, or perhaps you spent hours watching TV together? Did you really forget to take the occasion into your own hands by having some special memories? And if so, what are they and how can you recreate them over the next 25 years?
A memorable occasion like this should start with some thoughtful planning. You need to spend time planning and organizing the details so that you and your loved one will enjoy these special moments for years to come. So what do you do? Here are some ideas to help:
First, find a special moment to bring up the issue. Perhaps a friend has a particularly memorable meal that they would like to share with the special person they love. You could make a list of all the things they want to remember, then sit down and plan how you would all go about celebrating it over the next couple of days.
Second, create a special occasion for your partner to enjoy. A good place to begin is by taking a day off from work. The two of you can spend some time at home, and you can bring along some gifts that you both love, or something that you have been meaning to purchase for quite some time.
Third, get some flowers, and an ice cream parlor is a great way to do this. This way you will all be in one place and there will be plenty to do, plus your partner can get some good time alone with you just the two of you.
Fourth, make sure that the date is a very important date, and that it is a very special day in your relationship. If you have a hard time choosing this date, make sure that you all plan ahead and that you are all in agreement on the anniversary before you celebrate.
Fifth, go shopping and don't just pick out a present; spend some time figuring out a great gift. There are many gifts that are considered “special”. For example, you might consider something for their favorite hobby, or something they like that you don't have. Even if it doesn't fit perfectly, it still gives them something to enjoy and remember that special occasion by.
Fifthly, plan a little activity for the day. You can all get together, grab a book, go to a restaurant and watch a movie, or play a game, anything that you love.
So the above suggestions work really well. I know that for some people, they may not work well at all. but as long as you stick with it, you should have some fun while celebrating your anniversary.
