The first thing to remember when choosing your subjects is that you should choose something that is special to you.
Maybe you grew up in a family where there was always some kind of romance. You could have been brought up in a small town in New Zealand and spent your whole life in the public school system. That is one option, but you might not feel so happy. Or maybe you grew up in a house with three or four bedrooms and never got to enjoy much of the space because it was always taken up with friends. There are still plenty of such people left, but you could have spent your younger years living with your family in a house like that.
Now, the situation could have been different. If you met your husband when you were young, or if you had children, then you would have been lucky. Unfortunately, we are not so lucky. Instead, what usually happens is that we meet someone who we fall in love with but who we have no feelings for. And suddenly we are able to move into a relationship which is based purely on attraction. In the meantime, we are often unhappy and angry about how the relationship is going.
Why not capture some happiness in your life using happy 40th anniversary pictures? For a start, you can scan the pages of your calendar and make those perfect portraits of your partner. If you do not want to do that, then use your own photos as well. Just be sure that they show some parts of your personality. Happy pictures speak a thousand words.
